ASHLEY'S

Updated: May 15, 2018

Where healthy meets delicious!

It is not very common in Malaysia to find a vegetarian spot, well, most of them are “healthy cafes”, with a vegetarian option but mostly you will come across meat based dishes.

On my second day in Kuala Lumpur, I had lunch at Ashley’s by living food, it is a café located in the fashionable, “Bangsar,” an area in KL. Their food is homemade in-house, this means you will not find colouring, additional added flavouring, MSG etc, which could be harmful.

It contains vegetarian and non-vegetarian Malaysian foods as well as other dishes inspired by cuisines around the world. They have so many dishes which I did not know what to pick! From quinoa sushi, lentil soup, Nasi kerabu to pastas, burgers and raw vegan food. Everything you need for a healthy meal!

I asked the staff to recommend me something good and uncommon, he advised me red veggie burger made with beetroot, mushroom & quinoa steak on a red yeast bun with seasonal vegetables and fried potatoes. It was delicious, smooth and tasty, the potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the veggie steak had lots of flavored. With my burger I had a spinach and pineapple juice which was a good treat.

The staff is warm and welcoming. The interior is nicely decorated, there was a nice relaxed atmosphere that made me feel home and comfortable.

It is a bite pricy for the quantity they served but they have uncommon food which gives you a great experience.

I would recommend going to Ashley’s to discover their amazing tasty food in a comfy environment! Do not forget to bring your none veggie friends to give them the experience of the raw vegan food!
